London: Exciting news for commuters! Parts of the Northern line now have mobile coverage. This means you can browse the internet or make calls while on the move.

Transport for London (TfL) and Boldyn Networks have been busy expanding this coverage. They’ve just finished a new phase that includes key stations and tunnel sections.

Now, you can stay connected between Clapham North and Balham, plus at Oval, Clapham Common, and Clapham South stations. It’s a game changer for many Londoners.

All four major mobile networks—Three UK, EE, Vodafone, and Virgin Media O2—are on board with this rollout. It’s part of a bigger plan to improve connectivity across London’s transport system.

This upgrade will also help TfL staff stay in touch, making it easier to keep everything running smoothly. Plus, it’ll support the new Emergency Services Network, which is crucial for first responders.

TfL and Boldyn are aiming to bring high-speed 4G and 5G coverage to the entire Tube network, including the Docklands Light Railway and the Elizabeth line.

Recently, the Bakerloo line got coverage too, with more stations set to follow soon. The Deputy Mayor for Transport, Seb Dance, highlighted how this will help Londoners stay connected, especially with the holidays coming up.

Shashi Verma from TfL expressed excitement about the new coverage, saying they’re working hard to roll it out quickly. The latest stations to get coverage include popular spots like Shepherds Bush and Oxford Circus.

TfL encourages everyone to report any issues while traveling by texting the British Transport Police. Just remember, in emergencies, always call 999.

They’re not stopping here; work will continue through 2025 and 2026 to ensure full coverage across the Tube network, especially in areas outside Central London.
