Steeton: More than 50 employees at Acorn Stairlifts took part in health checks. The checks happened at their head office and factory on Millennium Business Park, Station Road.
These 20-minute health checks were part of a national NHS-backed program. Nurses from the Modality Partnership provided the services.
Lead nurse Sabrina Brame said they had a busy but great day at Acorn Stairlifts. With over 50 checks completed, she hopes the staff feel fit and healthy for 2025.
The event was organized by Bill Graham from Modality, along with Acorn’s wellbeing champions, Rebecca Haworth and Emily Shepherd. They worked together to make this happen.
Large employers interested in hosting similar events can email Mr. Graham at bill.graham2@nhs.net. Acorn Stairlifts produces around 70,000 stairlifts each year in Yorkshire and Scotland.
Almost three-quarters of their products are exported to about 80 countries. They serve the UK and operate in western Europe, the USA, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, and Singapore.
Last year, Acorn received the Insider Made in the UK Export Award. Judges praised their overseas logistics and job creation in the regions where they operate.
