Work underway as Salisbury Matalan converted to self storage

Salisbury: The old Matalan store is getting a makeover. Workers have started tearing down the inside to make way for a new self-storage facility.

Back in December, Wiltshire Council gave the green light for this project. The plan is to turn the old retail space on Southampton Road into a self-storage unit.

Here Self Storage will be taking over the site, but there’s a lot to do before it opens its doors. They’re planning to add roller shutter doors, a canopy for unloading, and even a new access gate.

Plus, they’ll be replacing doors, adding a fire exit, and sprucing up the building with some fresh paint. It’s all about making it functional and welcoming.

Matalan closed its doors in Salisbury back in April, and shortly after, Mr. G. Glew submitted plans to convert the space into self-storage.
