Woolwich: A tragic incident unfolded on the 472 bus in Woolwich Church Road just before 2:30 PM yesterday. A 14-year-old boy was stabbed, and despite emergency services’ efforts, he sadly passed away shortly after they arrived.
The boy, known as Grippa, had recently released a song on YouTube titled “Bangers N Mash” on Christmas Day. Friends have been sharing heartfelt tributes online, expressing their shock and sorrow over his untimely death.
One friend shared on Instagram, “Life is no joke. Once you are gone, you’re gone. Ain’t no coming back. RIP.” Another added, “Gone but never forgotten. RIP.” It’s clear he touched many lives.
A close friend told the Mirror, “He was a nice person. I used to see him after school. He didn’t deserve this.” It’s heartbreaking to hear how much he meant to those around him.
Deputy Commander Louise Sargent called the attack a “horrendous crime” and acknowledged the fear it has instilled in the local community. She expressed her condolences to the victim’s family and friends, emphasizing the need for swift action to find those responsible.
The police are actively investigating, but no arrests have been made yet. This incident follows another stabbing just a day earlier, although authorities confirmed the two cases are not connected.
Mayor of London, Sir Sadiq Khan, expressed his condolences and stated that this kind of violence has no place in the city. He assured the community that police presence would be increased in the area.
Last year, London saw ten teenagers lose their lives to violence, with most being stabbings. The youngest victim this year was just 14. If anyone has information about the incident, they are encouraged to contact the police.
