Woolwich Church Road stabbing: Boy ‘groomed by gangs’

Woolwich: A tragic incident unfolded when Kelyan Bokassa, a 14-year-old boy, was fatally stabbed on a bus. His mother, Mary, shared how kind and caring he was, describing him as someone who always looked out for others.

Kelyan, known as ‘Grippa’ in the online rap scene, was attacked just before 2:30 PM. Emergency services rushed to help him, but sadly, he passed away shortly after they arrived.

Mary recalled how her son had been in care but struggled with his situation, often running away. She fears he may have been influenced by gangs during his time on the streets. When he returned home, he was in poor condition, which worried her deeply.

On the day of his death, Kelyan was on his way to meet a social worker to address some legal issues. He had recently released a song on YouTube, and friends have been sharing heartfelt tributes online, expressing their sorrow over his loss.

Deputy Commander Louise Sargent called the attack a “horrendous crime” and acknowledged the fear it has instilled in the community. She assured everyone that the police are working hard to find those responsible.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. The community is left in shock, mourning the loss of a young life taken too soon.
