Woman Sentenced for Stabbing Transgender Woman in Revenge Attack
A woman has been sentenced to over eight years for a brutal stabbing of a transgender woman, driven by a warped sense of revenge.

Harrow: So, there was this really shocking incident where a woman named Summer Betts-Ramsey got sentenced for stabbing a transgender woman. It was a brutal attack, and it all stemmed from some twisted idea of revenge.
The victim, who was just 18 at the time, got stabbed nine times last February. It was a group of five masked youths who jumped in on her. Thankfully, some bystanders rushed in to help, or things could have been way worse.
After the attack, Betts-Ramsey told a friend that the victim “deserved it.” She ended up admitting to having a knife and causing serious harm. The judge didn’t hold back, calling the whole thing “abhorrent” and saying it was fueled by a messed-up view of revenge linked to the victim’s gender identity.
Betts-Ramsey got over eight years in youth detention, with half of that time to be served in custody. The judge labeled her a “dangerous offender.” Three other guys involved in the attack got three years in youth detention, while a younger member of the gang received a rehabilitation order.
It turns out the group was really angry because the victim had lied about her gender identity after a kiss with one of them. When they found out she was transgender, they decided to plan an attack on her through Snapchat, which is just wild.
During the attack, the victim was not only stabbed but also punched and kicked while they hurled transphobic slurs at her. In a statement, she mentioned living with “thick scars” and struggling to sleep since that day.
After the assault, the attackers even bragged about it on social media, which is just sickening. The judge said the whole thing was brutal and that the victim suffered serious injuries, both physical and emotional. It’s just heartbreaking to think about what she went through.
As the group left, members of the public stepped in to help the victim, and an ambulance was called. There’s also a 17-year-old girl who admitted to robbing the victim’s handbag after the attack, and she’s still waiting for her sentence.
