Woman ‘seriously injured’ as crash closes major road

Huyton: This morning, a woman got seriously hurt in a crash. It happened around 4:40 AM at the junction of Liverpool Road and Hillside Avenue. Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of a Mazda hitting a female pedestrian.

The woman suffered serious injuries, and police quickly set up a large cordon. They closed Liverpool Road from Blue Bell Lane to the M57 in both directions while they investigated.

The good news is that the car involved stopped at the scene. Now, police are asking for anyone who saw what happened or has dashcam footage to come forward. Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson emphasized the urgency of their request.

Road closures will be in place for a while, so drivers should look for alternative routes. The police appreciate everyone’s patience during this time.
