Skelmersdale: So, there’s this crazy story about a guy named David Bennett. He’s a registered sex offender who went on a date with a woman last May. They had some drinks at her place, but things took a dark turn.
After hanging out with friends, they went back to her home. The poor woman couldn’t remember much after that. While she was asleep, Bennett assaulted her and even filmed it on his phone. Can you believe that?
In the days that followed, he kept trying to reach out to her. His behavior was so strange that she decided to look him up online. That’s when she found out about his awful past.
She contacted the police, who arrested him and found the videos on his phone. He was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault and got a hefty 10-year sentence. That includes five years in prison and another five years on license.
The judge also slapped him with a restraining order and a sexual harm prevention order. A detective from Lancashire Police said Bennett is a dangerous guy, and they take these offenses very seriously.
This isn’t his first run-in with the law either. Back in 2015, he assaulted a woman outside a police station. He had a history of similar offenses, including some pretty disturbing behavior involving children. It’s just a shocking case all around.
