Police Identify Woman Killed in Liverpool Road Crash as Catherine Dodd

The woman, identified as 59-year-old Catherine Dodd from Huyton, sadly died at the scene. Her family is receiving support from specialized officers as the investigation continues. The driver, a 35-year-old man from the same area, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and is currently being questioned by the police.
Merseyside Police have made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to prior contact with the victim. Meanwhile, road closures are in effect on Liverpool Road from junction 2 of the M57 to Blue Bell Lane, and authorities are urging drivers to steer clear of the area.
Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson, leading the investigation, expressed condolences to the victim’s family and emphasized the importance of gathering information. He encouraged anyone who may have been near the junction around the time of the incident to check their dashcam footage and come forward with any evidence.
