Woman found dead in North Cork apartment named locally

Mallow: The woman found dead in an apartment earlier today has been named as Paula Canty. She was just 31 years old and originally from Kinsale. Paula had been living in Mallow for a few months and was well-liked in the community.

Gardaí discovered her body in an apartment on Bridewell Lane, close to Mallow Castle, around 10 am. Reports suggest she may have suffered stab wounds, which is quite alarming.

Right now, the Gardaí are looking into the circumstances of her death and are waiting for the post-mortem results to guide their next steps. The area has been sealed off for a thorough investigation, and her body was taken to Cork University Hospital.

A senior officer is leading the investigation, and they’ve set up an incident room at Mallow Garda Station. They’ve also assigned a family liaison officer to support Paula’s family during this tough time.
