Lancaster, UK, Accident, Hospital, Police
Lancaster: A woman is in a tough spot after being struck by a car close to Lancaster University. It’s a serious situation, and she’s currently fighting for her life in the hospital.
The police got the call about the accident around 5:39 PM on Tuesday. It involved a Dacia Sandero and a pedestrian on the A6, right at the junction with Sir John Fisher Drive.
The woman, who’s in her 40s, suffered some pretty serious injuries. She was rushed to the hospital and remains in critical condition. The road was shut down for several hours, which made it tricky for anyone trying to get to the university.
Authorities advised folks to steer clear of the area and to listen to any instructions from the officers on the scene. They’re also looking for witnesses and any video footage that might help with the investigation.
Sgt. Tom Malley from the Roads Policing Unit expressed his concern, saying, “This collision has left a woman very poorly, and my thoughts are with her and her loved ones.” He’s asking anyone who saw the accident or has information to reach out.
If you have dashcam or CCTV footage from between 5 PM and 6 PM, especially around Collingham Park and Hazelrigg Lane on the A6, they’d love to hear from you.
