Woman Faked Cancer and HIV to Steal £22,000 in Sick Pay from Employer
Emma Rorison forged medical documents to claim sick pay, leading to her dismissal and a suspended jail sentence

Emma, who worked in customer relations, even made up sick notes using real doctors’ names. When her employer asked to see her medical records, she flat-out refused. Talk about suspicious, right?
She claimed she had all sorts of health issues, including liver and kidney tumors, and even said she was a victim of medical negligence. But when the truth came out, her employer dismissed her.
In court, she got a 20-month jail sentence, but it’s suspended for two years. The judge was pretty clear about how serious her actions were, saying she committed extensive fraud.
Emma started her job back in 2017 and made her first claim about a year later, saying she was undergoing treatment for a brain tumor. But as time went on, her stories just kept getting wilder.
She told her employer she was having chemotherapy, dialysis, and even claimed she was raped and contracted HIV. When they wanted to check her medical records, she just wouldn’t let them.
Eventually, she sent fake letters from doctors, but the hospital confirmed they were bogus. After being dismissed, the police got involved, and she admitted to creating the letters.
Her lawyer said she had real health concerns but that things spiraled out of control. Now, she’s been ordered to pay back the full amount or face jail time. It’s a wild story, for sure!
