New York: A woman tragically lost her life after being set on fire on the subway. It’s a shocking story that’s left many people in disbelief.

She was reportedly sleeping on a stationary train when a man approached her and lit her on fire. This happened early Sunday morning, around 7:30 am.

Police were on patrol at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station when they noticed smoke and commotion. They found her in the train, engulfed in flames.

Emergency responders arrived quickly, but sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s just heartbreaking.

So far, no arrests have been made, but the police are actively searching for the suspect. They’re asking the public for help in finding him.

There’s even a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that could lead to an arrest. The man they’re looking for is described as being in his late twenties to early thirties.

This incident is particularly alarming as it marks the second death on the subway that day. Earlier, police responded to a stabbing at another station in Queens.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has been taking steps to improve safety on the subway, including deploying National Guard members to help with security.
