Brisbane: So, there’s this really disturbing case that just came to light. A woman, 34 years old, has been charged with some pretty serious stuff. She’s accused of giving a one-year-old girl prescription meds without any medical approval for months. Can you believe that?
According to the police, she knew the child and was giving her these unauthorized medications from August to October 2024. It gets worse—she even used old meds that belonged to someone else just to keep this going.
And here’s the kicker: she filmed the little girl while she was in pain and posted those videos online. Apparently, she did this to get donations and boost her social media following. That’s just beyond messed up.
It wasn’t until the child was admitted to a hospital in Brisbane that the staff reported her to the police. They tested the girl for unauthorized meds, and guess what? The results came back positive.
Detectives tracked her down at her home in Underwood and arrested her. She’s facing multiple charges, including torture and fraud. She’s set to appear in court soon.
Detective Inspector Paul Dalton didn’t hold back, calling her actions “abhorrent.” He made it clear that there’s no excuse for harming a child, especially one so young who relies on adults for care.
Police are planning to hold a press conference to discuss the case further. If you or someone you know needs help, Lifeline and Kids Helpline are available.
