Puerto Escondido: So, get this! A woman named Melissa Laurie, who survived a crazy crocodile attack, met the King while wearing a crocodile brooch. How cool is that?
Back in June 2021, Melissa was swimming in a lagoon in Mexico when a crocodile ambushed her. It was her twin sister, Georgia, who jumped in to save her, fighting off the beast multiple times. Talk about sisterly love!
Melissa ended up with some serious injuries, including an open fracture and sepsis, which put her in a coma. But she pulled through, and now she’s got a gallantry medal from the King to show for it.
At the investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace, Melissa wore her special brooch on a green velvet jacket. She said it was a sweet gift from Georgia to celebrate their incredible journey.
Melissa recalled the terrifying moment when she spotted the crocodile. She screamed for them to turn back, but it was too late. The crocodile dragged her under, and Georgia had to punch it to save her. Can you imagine that?
Eventually, a rescue boat arrived, and Melissa was taken to safety, but not before a wild fight with the crocodile. The King honored her bravery, along with others who showed exceptional courage. What a story!
