New Orleans: So, there was this crazy incident on New Year’s Day. A guy named Jaries Brown, just 23, was in town with friends to celebrate. They were having a good time on Bourbon Street when everything turned upside down.

Jaries was chilling, taking pictures, and enjoying a few drinks when suddenly, chaos erupted. He saw people running and then a white truck barreling through the crowd. It was terrifying.

That truck ended up killing at least 14 people and injuring many more. Jaries managed to avoid getting hit, but he didn’t just stand by. He rushed to help his friend, Alexis, who had been shot.

He described how he found her crying on the ground and picked her up to run. But then, he fell, and that’s when he heard the gunshots. It was a nightmare.

After taking cover, he tried to find his other friends. They were all worried about one buddy, Brandon, who was missing. They kept calling him until he finally answered from the hospital, where he was being treated for a gunshot wound.

Even though Jaries came out unscathed, the memories haunt him. He keeps replaying the scene in his head, and it’s tough to shake off. But he’s grateful to be alive and is trying to move forward.

He mentioned that four of his friends were hurt in the attack, and they’re still checking on their conditions. It’s a heavy situation, but Jaries is thankful for his life and the chance to help others.
