Also, try to keep your showers short—10 minutes or less is ideal. Use lukewarm water instead of hot, as hot water can dry out your skin even more.

If you’re already dealing with dandruff, massaging some hair oil into your scalp can help. It breaks down the dry flakes and adds moisture. Plus, using a dandruff-specific shampoo can make a big difference.

Cold weather can also restrict blood flow to your skin, which isn’t great for hair growth. And don’t forget about sunlight! Less sun means less vitamin D, which can lead to more dandruff.

If you think you might be low on vitamin D, it’s worth chatting with your doctor. You can also boost your intake with foods like eggs, fish, and low-fat milk.
