Winchester: Dr. Kay Linnell just got some fantastic news! She’s been awarded an OBE in the 2025 New Year’s Honours List. How cool is that?

She’s been a dedicated Soroptimist for over 40 years, working with various clubs before settling in Winchester. Talk about commitment!

Throughout her time, she’s taken on several roles, even serving as the regional president for Southern England. That’s some serious leadership!

Dr. Linnell earned this recognition for her tireless work with the Subpostmasters Alliance during the Post Office Horizon scandal. She really made a difference.

She even appeared in the TV documentary “Mr Bates vs the Post Office,” which highlights her significant contributions. Pretty impressive, right?

Recently, she and her business partner, Barbara Jeremiah, shared their experiences at a Cardio Rehab lecture in Alton. They talked about how they helped subpostmasters navigate their accounts and contracts over the years.

A spokesperson from Soroptimist International Winchester said it’s a huge honor for Kay and for all Soroptimists. They’re really proud of her achievement!

Soroptimist International is a global women’s organization, and they’re planning orange events worldwide to celebrate. It’s all about empowering women!
