Oklahoma City: As Christmas approaches, folks are busy with last-minute shopping and getting things sorted before the holiday closures kick in.
But what about services like trash pickup, public transport, and banks? Here’s the scoop.
So, will trash be collected on Christmas Day in OKC? Good news! Since waste isn’t picked up on Wednesdays, your trash and recycling won’t be affected.
On Christmas Eve, everything will run as usual, so you can still get rid of that holiday waste.
Now, what about banks? Most of them, including Bank of Oklahoma and Arvest Bank, will be closed on Christmas since it’s a federal holiday.
And if you’re wondering about the post office, they’ll be closed on Christmas Day. Regular mail won’t be delivered, but if you’re using Priority Mail Express, you’re in luck!
As for public transit, Oklahoma City’s buses will be running on Christmas Day, and guess what? It’s free fare for RAPID, the OKC Streetcar, and buses!
RAPID will run every 30 minutes from 7 a.m. to midnight, while buses will follow a weekend schedule. The OKC Streetcar will be operating on reduced hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Just a heads up, some city services will be closed on Christmas Day, like the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center and the Municipal Court pay window.
So, make sure to plan ahead and enjoy your holiday!
