Dallas: So, Deion Sanders has been making waves lately. Back in 2023, he was pretty adamant about not wanting to coach in the NFL. He even said, “I would never do that.” But guess what? Things have changed a bit.
Now, he’s hinted that he might consider it, but only if he could coach his sons. However, it looks like he might be on the verge of coaching in the NFL without them. There’s been chatter about him and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones talking, and the betting odds have shifted, with Sanders being a top contender for the job.
Ed Werder from WFAA mentioned that Sanders would likely take the Dallas gig if offered. His friends are pushing him to go for it, and it seems like Jones is really interested in the idea. But there are some hurdles to jump over first.
For starters, there’s the money issue. Deion has an $8 million buyout to deal with. Plus, he’ll need to be cool with Jerry calling the shots, doing radio interviews, and handling media stuff that might steal the spotlight from Deion.
This whole situation is pretty intriguing. If it happens, it could really elevate the Cowboys’ profile, especially in prime time. Jerry Jones is all about that. Any team can win, but the Cowboys have a unique flair, and having Coach Prime at the helm would take it to another level.
