Fortitude Valley: So, there was this crazy incident at a tobacco shop early Thursday morning. CCTV caught the whole thing, and it’s wild. A guy, wearing a mask and carrying a jerry can, walked right in and set the place on fire.

The shop owner tried to stop him, but things escalated quickly. The suspect ended up running out, and guess what? He was on fire too! Talk about a chaotic escape.

Emergency services got the call around 3:30 AM after folks noticed the flames. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but the footage shows the arsonist might have burned himself while making his getaway.

Police even found a flaming shoe tossed out of a car window nearby, which suggests the guy really got burned. They’re looking into whether this was a targeted attack or linked to some organized crime stuff.

The tobacco shop had just opened a few weeks ago, and now it’s completely destroyed. The owner is cooperating with the police, and they’ve set up a crime scene to figure out what happened.

If anyone saw anything or has info, they’re asking people to reach out to the police or Crime Stoppers. It’s a real head-scratcher, and everyone’s hoping for some answers soon.
