Perth: A widow is calling for a fire safety review at a recycling center after a tragic incident. Magda Szmeichel lost her husband, Slawomir, in a fire there last March.

Since then, the site has seen another fire, making it the fourth blaze in just four years. It’s been a tough road for Magda, who says every day feels like a challenge without her husband.

The latest fire broke out early Tuesday, causing major disruptions in the area. Fire crews worked hard to control the flames, which were reportedly sparked by a waste battery.

Magda expressed her frustration over the lack of updates regarding the investigation into her husband’s death. She wants to ensure no other family has to go through what she did.

Local MSP Murdo Fraser is also pushing for a safety review, highlighting the serious fire risks at the facility. He raised concerns about its location near a major road and the potential dangers it poses to the community.
