San Francisco: Ricky Pearsall is really enjoying his rookie season with the 49ers. He’s thrilled to be playing for coach Kyle Shanahan, who he calls a “mastermind.”

After a tough game against the Lions, where he racked up 141 receiving yards, Pearsall opened up about his experience. He told NBC Sports Bay Area that he and Shanahan have built a solid relationship.

Pearsall said he knew about Shanahan’s reputation even before joining the team. He admires how creative the coach is in getting players involved in the game.

Despite a rough season for the 49ers, with injuries and other challenges, Pearsall feels reassured knowing Shanahan’s position is secure. The team’s CEO, Jed York, confirmed that both Shanahan and GM John Lynch are staying put.

Pearsall’s journey hasn’t been easy, especially after surviving an armed robbery that left him with a gunshot wound. But he’s bouncing back and showing what he can do on the field.

He was drafted 31st overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, and it seems like that decision is paying off. Pearsall had a standout performance, catching eight passes and scoring a touchdown.

He’s excited to keep working with Shanahan, saying, “He’s one of the best to ever do it.” It looks like good things are ahead for both Pearsall and the 49ers.
