Manchester: So, it looks like Marcus Rashford won’t be playing against Liverpool this Sunday. United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, just confirmed it. He’s not feeling well and hasn’t been training.
Remember back in December? Amorim hinted that Rashford’s time at United might be over when he left him out of the squad for the Manchester City game. They won that match, but things have gone downhill since then.
Rashford hasn’t played in the last five games. He was on the bench against Newcastle but didn’t get a chance to step on the pitch. Instead, Amorim chose to bring on Antony. It’s a tough spot for him.
Amorim mentioned that Rashford is ill and will be out this week. It sounds like he might not even make it back for the rest of January. The club seems eager to move him on during the transfer window, but who knows if that’ll happen.
After a fantastic last season where he scored 30 goals, Rashford got a hefty new contract. But now, that deal looks like a burden for United, especially with his recent performances dropping off.
Things have changed a lot for Rashford in just two years. Amorim also shared some good news about Amad Diallo, who’s close to signing a new deal. Plus, they’ve decided to extend Harry Maguire’s contract for another year.
Amorim said they’re happy to keep Maguire but wants him to step up as a leader. The team really needs that right now. It’s a bit of a mess at Old Trafford, and no one knows what’s next for Rashford.
