Why Manchester Arndale Has Been Evacuated This Morning

Manchester: There was a bit of a stir at the Manchester Arndale today. People were asked to leave the building, and it left many scratching their heads.
Shoppers and staff were pretty confused about what was going on. One person even told the Manchester Evening News, “The Arndale has just been evacuated. No reason given.” Talk about a surprise!
Social media lit up with questions as folks inside the building wondered why they had to leave. But don’t worry, Manchester Arndale later confirmed it was just a routine fire drill.
Apparently, Greater Manchester Police knew about the drill ahead of time, so it was all above board. Once the drill wrapped up, shops and cafes were set to get back to normal.
A spokesperson for Manchester Arndale took to X to clarify, saying, “We are currently carrying out a routine, scheduled evacuation drill for Manchester Arndale. Thank you to all customers and staff for your patience during this test.”
This isn’t the first time they’ve done this, either. Last January, they had a similar drill that cleared the place out for about 40 minutes. Just part of keeping everyone safe!
