Liverpool: A massive Royal Navy ship is currently docked in the city. The RFA Tidespring, a replenishment tanker, is getting some much-needed maintenance. It’s about 200 meters long and weighs around 37,000 tonnes. You might have seen it on the River Mersey recently.

This ship has been around since 2016 and has been serving since 2017. It’s mainly used for refueling other Royal Navy ships while they’re out on missions. It also delivers essential supplies and can transport special personnel like the Royal Marines. Pretty cool, right?

RFA Tidespring can even carry a Chinook helicopter on its deck, which makes it more versatile than older tankers. Just the other day, the ship’s social media shared a snap of the Liverpool waterfront, hinting at some upgrades coming up for the next season.

A spokesperson from the Royal Navy mentioned that the ship is under maintenance and is currently docked in Liverpool. They sometimes use the Liverpool Cruise Terminal as a stopover while they conduct trials and move in and out of the Cammell Laird shipyard. So, if you’re in the area, you might want to check it out!
