Kings’ Stars Struggle in First Round of NBA All-Star Voting
The initial NBA All-Star fan voting shows Kings players lagging behind, with Fox and Sabonis ranked but needing more support from fans.
Sacramento, NBA, De’Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis, All-Star Voting
Nikola Jokić and Giannis Antetokounmpo are leading the pack in their conferences. Fans get to vote for 50% of the All-Star starters, while players and media each get 25%. So, it’s a big deal!
De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis are sitting at eighth and ninth in their positions. It’s a bit surprising that DeMar DeRozan, a six-time All-Star, isn’t even in the top 10, especially since he’s putting up solid numbers.
Fox has 132,937 votes, which is ahead of Devin Booker and Norman Powell. He’s having a great season, averaging 26.8 points and 5.0 rebounds. But he’s still trailing some big names like Steph Curry and Luka Dončić.
Sabonis isn’t far behind with 148,810 votes, but he’s also got some heavy hitters ahead of him. Both players are having career years, but the Kings’ struggles might be holding them back from getting more recognition.
The next voting update is coming on January 9, so there’s still time for fans to show their support. Let’s see if Fox and Sabonis can climb the ranks!
