Minneapolis: The Warriors took on the Timberwolves and came out on top with a 113-103 victory. They led for most of the game, and it was a real nail-biter at times. But Stephen Curry stepped up big time, scoring 13 points in the final minutes to seal the deal.
Five players hit double digits, with Curry leading the pack at 31 points and dishing out 10 assists. Trayce Jackson-Davis, who started for the first time this month, added 15 points and nine rebounds. It was a solid team effort, especially from the bench, which contributed 46 points.
Coach Steve Kerr had to shuffle the lineup again since Draymond Green was out with an ankle issue. They rolled out their 16th starting lineup of the season, and it worked well initially. They jumped out to a 21-point lead, but the Timberwolves made a strong comeback in the second half.
Despite missing Green, the Warriors showed some impressive defense early on. They held Minnesota to just one field goal in the first few minutes and went on a 10-0 run in the second quarter. It was some of their best defensive play of the season, which is encouraging without their defensive anchor.
As for Dennis Schröder, his second game was a bit better than the first. He started again and seemed more in sync with the team, even if his shooting wasn’t great. He’s getting there, and once he finds his rhythm, he should be a solid contributor.
All in all, it was a feel-good win for the Warriors, and they’ll be looking to build on this momentum in their next game.
