The Heat came out strong, even leading by 17 points at one point. But the Kings weren’t ready to throw in the towel. They rallied late in the fourth quarter, forcing the game into overtime.
With both teams missing their star players—De’Aaron Fox for the Kings and Jimmy Butler for the Heat—the stage was set for others to shine. Tyler Herro was on fire for Miami, scoring 26 points, but the Kings had their own hero in DeMar DeRozan, who led all scorers with 30 points.
The game had its tense moments. With just 0.2 seconds left in regulation, Keon Ellis was fouled and went to the free-throw line. He made one of two shots, which sent the game into double overtime.
In the extra periods, DeRozan took charge, scoring nine points and helping secure the win. Malik Monk also stepped up big time, contributing 23 points and keeping the energy high for Sacramento.
While the Kings struggled with their three-point shooting, they found other ways to score and ultimately got the job done. It’s a great win for Sacramento, marking their fifth straight victory and showing that they can fight through tough situations.
