Chepstow: A family business called Only Food and Sauces was completely destroyed by a fire last week. It happened on the evening of January 7, and the owners, Kyle and Kelly Gettings, are heartbroken.
They’ve put so much effort into this food van over the past year, and now it’s all gone. Kelly was in shock when she saw the flames. She said it didn’t really hit her until the next day.
When Kyle arrived, he pushed through the police and fire crews to see the damage. He couldn’t believe his eyes. It was tough to see Kelly and their kids so upset that day.
The couple started their business about 13 months ago to show their kids, Angel and Braxton, the importance of hard work and determination. They’ve been together since they were teenagers and have faced financial struggles in the past.
They remember nights waiting for benefits just to feed their kids. But they decided to turn things around for their family. Kyle said, “My kids are my motivation, they are my heroes.”
Since opening, they’ve worked incredibly hard, often putting in 90-100 hour weeks. They even stayed open until 1am some nights to serve customers.
They created a TikTok page to promote their business, inspired by other food creators. Their videos have gained over 400,000 views, and followers love watching them cook and interact.
Despite their struggles, they’ve given back to the community, like hosting a treasure hunt over Christmas where the winner got an Xbox or PS5. They also provide meals to the homeless every Sunday.
Even though this is a tough time, they’re staying positive and are grateful for the support from the Chepstow community and their online followers.
Interestingly, their story reached the TikTok star ‘Spudman,’ who has offered his support. To help them rebuild, you can donate to their fundraiser.
They’ll keep everyone updated on their journey to reopen through their TikTok account, and any news will be shared there as well. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but they believe the authorities are working hard to find out what happened.
