West Lothian: Two amazing mums, Deborah and Lorna, have been making Christmas brighter for families in their area. They’ve been providing free festive meals for those who need a little extra help.

Every year, they gather volunteers and raise funds to create food hampers and gifts. This Christmas, they managed to deliver over 130 hampers, which is a huge jump from just 34 in their first year!

Deborah started this initiative a few years back after realizing many families were struggling, even those who work. She felt compelled to help after hearing about a family that wouldn’t have a Christmas dinner.

They’ve teamed up with local businesses and even organized fun fundraising events throughout the year. It’s been a real community effort, with lots of people pitching in to make it all happen.

This year, they raised an impressive £15,000 and partnered with a local butcher for the Christmas dinners. They also made sure to give back to the local food bank, donating spare hampers and cash to help others.

Deborah and Lorna even spread some holiday cheer by handing out Christmas cards with cash to random folks in Bathgate. They want to keep helping throughout the year, not just at Christmas.

It’s heartwarming to see how they’ve turned their compassion into action, and they’re grateful for all the support from local businesses and the community. You can check out their efforts on their Facebook page, For the Greater Good.
