West London Town Could See 14-Storey Student Block Near Tube Station
Plans are underway for a new 14-storey student accommodation in Hammersmith, featuring 179 rooms and community spaces.

Hammersmith: So, there’s some buzz about a new student block going up in Hammersmith. They want to tear down an old office building and put up a shiny 14-storey place for students. Sounds like a big change, right?
Royal London is behind this project, and they’re planning to add 179 rooms. Plus, they’re throwing in a library and a café on the ground floor. That could be a nice spot for students to hang out!
Joseph Kane from Royal London says this will really help the area. It’s just a short stroll from Hammersmith Station, so it’s super convenient. And it’s right next to the Irish Cultural Centre, which is always buzzing with events.
Imperial College London is on board too, giving their thumbs up for the new accommodation. They think it’ll help free up some homes that students are currently using, which is a win-win for everyone.
The plan is to make this place sustainable and top-notch for students. They want it to be a lasting addition to the community, which sounds pretty cool. No parking spaces are in the works, but there will be bike parking in the basement.
Mr. Kane is excited about this project. He believes it’ll breathe new life into a currently empty spot in town. They’re all about quality design and making sure it fits the community’s needs.
And there’s more! They’re also looking to demolish the Hammersmith Flyover nearby and build around 3,000 homes in the area. A ‘flyunder’ is in the plans to replace the old flyover. Big changes are coming!
