Ealing: Big changes are on the horizon for this West London borough. Residents can look forward to some exciting developments rolling out in 2025. The council is teaming up with developers to bring new homes and a leisure centre to the area.

One of the key projects is the Gurnell Leisure Centre in West Ealing. It closed back in August 2020 because it was deemed unsafe. The new plans include a 50-metre swimming pool, a gym, and around 300 homes, with a good chunk of them being affordable.

There was quite a bit of pushback from locals about the original plans, which included taller buildings. The council listened and made changes, reducing the height and number of homes. It’s great to see them taking community feedback seriously.

Another project to keep an eye on is the student accommodation at 42 Hastings Road. This one’s been a hot topic, with residents voicing their concerns. The plans have been adjusted, and now there will be two towers instead of the originally proposed three, with a mix of affordable student rooms.

In Acton, there’s also a new student block and residential building in the works. They’re set to demolish some old warehouses to make way for this development, which will include affordable housing options too.

Dean Gardens is getting a makeover as well. The park has been in need of some TLC, and the new plans include play areas for kids and community gardening spots. It’s all about making the space safer and more enjoyable for everyone.

Lastly, the Sherwood Close project is moving forward, with plans for new homes and a community centre. The council is working hard to ensure that the new developments meet the needs of the community while addressing concerns about height and local services.

So, there’s a lot happening in Ealing, and it’s exciting to see how these projects will shape the borough in the coming years!
