London: West Ham pulled off a nail-biting 3-2 win against Fulham at the London Stadium. It was their first home match under Graham Potter, and what a way to kick things off!
Both Carlos Soler and Tomas Soucek found the net just two minutes apart, giving the Hammers a solid lead at halftime. Fulham’s Alex Iwobi managed to score twice, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide.
Fabianski had a rough night, struggling with Iwobi’s goals, which were more like crosses. Wan-Bissaka played well, assisting Soucek’s goal, while Mavropanos held the defense together nicely.
Max Kilman was impressive, almost scoring himself, and Emerson brought some much-needed experience back to the left side. Edson Alvarez started slow but picked up the pace as the game went on.
Soucek was a standout, scoring a fantastic goal and putting in a solid shift, even if he did get booked. Soler also shone, showing his growing importance to the team with a great performance.
