London: So, West Ham had a rough day against Crystal Palace, losing 2-0. Graham Potter is still trying to find his footing with the team, and it’s been a bit of a struggle. He’s only managed one win in his first three games, which isn’t great.
On the flip side, Crystal Palace is flying high. They snagged their first away derby win in the capital since last November. Jean-Philippe Mateta was the star, scoring both goals and showing West Ham what they’re missing in their attack.
West Ham is still looking for a striker to fill the gaps left by injuries to key players like Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio. It’s a tough spot to be in, especially when you see how well Palace is doing.
The first half was pretty dull, with neither team really making a mark. But after halftime, Mateta broke the deadlock just three minutes in, and that changed everything. Potter had to shake things up, so he made some substitutions to try and turn the tide.
Despite their efforts, West Ham couldn’t find the back of the net. They didn’t even manage a single shot on target all game, which is just not good enough. As they pushed for an equalizer, Palace took advantage of the space and ended up scoring a penalty to seal the deal.
It was a tough day for West Ham fans, and you could feel the frustration. Potter has a lot of work ahead of him if he wants to turn things around.
