Pembrokeshire: A young cafe owner lost everything in a fire. Zac Bull, who runs the Kraken Café in Saundersfoot, returned from a walk to find his caravan destroyed.
The fire happened on January 27. Zac was gone for two and a half hours. When he returned, his home was reduced to ashes. The fire service arrived at 1:05 PM and worked for nearly two hours to ensure safety.
Zac estimates he lost around £10,000 worth of belongings. His sister, Ella, set up a Gofundme page to help him rebuild. The caravan was only eight months old and contained all his clothes, electronics, and cash savings.
The fire may have been caused by faulty wiring. It not only destroyed Zac’s caravan but also damaged his parents’ shed, where he stored catering equipment. Zac had moved into the caravan to save money for his café.
His girlfriend, Megan, said it was a nightmare. Zac had just started his business and was doing well. They had plans to reopen the café in mid-February, but now those plans are uncertain.
After the fire, Zac lost sentimental items, including gifts from family. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but faulty wires are suspected. Zac had done a safety check in August, and nothing was left on when they left for their walk.
Now, Zac is staying with Megan’s family while he figures out his next steps. Ella encourages anyone to support the Gofundme page. Every little bit helps him rebuild his life.
The fire service used multiple hoses and equipment to put out the fire. They left the scene around 3:20 PM.
