Vancouver: So, there’s a storm rolling into British Columbia, and it’s not just a light drizzle. This one’s packing some serious rain and snow, especially for the mountains.
As the weekend kicks off, expect widespread rain and gusty winds. This could mean some ferry delays, so if you’re planning to travel, keep that in mind.
It’s a good idea to check the weather alerts before heading out, especially if you’re driving through the mountain passes. Conditions can change pretty quickly, so stay alert.
Friday’s rain is just the start. By Saturday, we’re looking at 30-50 mm of rain in Metro Vancouver, with Abbotsford possibly seeing the highest amounts. Victoria might get lucky with less than 20 mm.
And for those hitting the highways, the Allison Pass and Coquihalla Pass are expected to get an extra 10-20 cm of snow. The Sea-to-Sky Highway could see 10-15 cm too, so be prepared for some delays.
While the winds aren’t the main story, they’ll still be noticeable. Expect gusts of 40-60 km/h, which could impact ferry services later on Saturday.
