Salford: Who doesn’t love a good pizza now and then? Especially when it’s award-winning. We heard amazing things about Harry Pszza, said to be better than Domino’s and Papa John’s. So, we had to check it out.

We’ve tried both big brands and liked them. But it was surprising to hear so many people rave about this little independent spot. Harry Pszza is tucked away on Ridyard Street, near Walkden Town Centre. You can pick up your order or get it delivered within four miles.

Harry Pszza started in 2019 as a pop-up from owner Harshal Patel’s home. It became so popular that he opened a shop. Now, it’s a full-time gig for Harry and his wife Jo, plus a couple of delivery drivers. They’ve won several awards along the way.

Harry was a finalist in the Pizza Chef of the Year competition for 2022 and 2023. He also snagged a runner-up spot for best value eats in the Observer Food Monthly Awards 2022. In December, they won Gold in the PAPA Industry Awards for Independent Pizza Delivery Shop.

We decided to order on a busy Saturday evening in January. Choosing a pizza was tough with so many toppings and quirky names. The Lucifer’s Kiss is a customer favorite, loaded with spicy ingredients. The Hague is another bestseller, featuring garlic butter and chorizo.

We went for a classic margherita and a unique Porkies Revenge. This one has a BBQ base topped with chorizo, pepperoni, ham, and even Frazzles! It sounds odd, but it worked and everyone loved it.

The pizza bases are super thin, which I was worried about. But they were still filling, with tasty crusts. You get loads of flavor without feeling stuffed afterward. They even have a dessert pizza, but we opted for cannoli instead.

The cannoli was delightful, with a crisp shell and creamy filling. It’s easy to see why this place gets such great reviews. One customer said, “Much better than the usual pizza chains.” Another added, “Best Pszza for miles!”

Pizzas start at £8 for a 13-inch and go up to £21 for an 18-inch. Cannoli costs £1.25 each or £1.75 for two. Check out their menu online or find them on social media.
