Manchester: So, this couple was all set for a birthday getaway to Tenerife when things went south at the airport. They were stopped from boarding because of a tiny rip in the husband’s passport. Can you believe that? They had already checked in and even exchanged money using the same passport!

Abriella Monroe, 32, was super upset. She and her husband, Sebastien, were looking forward to celebrating his 36th birthday. But instead of a fun trip, they ended up dealing with a passport issue. Apparently, a bit of glue had come loose, causing a small tear. Ryanair said they were right to refuse him travel, but the couple thought it was totally unfair.

They watched their flight take off without them, which must have been so frustrating. After going through passport control, they were told by Border Force that Sebastien’s passport was actually fine. How confusing is that?

Abriella, who relies on a wheelchair, and Sebastien had to wait ages to get their luggage back. They were supposed to be on a two-week holiday, but now they’re stuck figuring out how to get a new passport in Liverpool instead. They arrived at the airport super early, thinking everything was fine, but then this happened.

Abriella shared how they checked in without any issues and even went through security without a hitch. But when they got to the boarding gate, a staff member took one look at Sebastien’s passport and said he couldn’t travel. They tried to explain, but it was no use. They ended up watching their flight leave without them.

Afterward, they had to go through Border Force to leave the airport, where they were told the passport was valid. They waited for their luggage and wheelchair, feeling pretty frustrated. Abriella said they’ll definitely be complaining to Ryanair when they get home. It’s just a small tear, and all his details are still visible!

According to government guidelines, a passport is considered damaged if the details can’t be read or if there are any rips or holes. Abriella mentioned they last traveled six years ago without any issues, and she keeps all their important documents safe. Ryanair, however, insists the passport was damaged and not valid for travel. What a mess!
