Rayleigh: So, there’s been a bit of a kerfuffle at a BP petrol station. Drivers are getting warnings about contaminated fuel that’s causing cars to break down. It all kicked off at the London Road garage on January 6.
Apparently, a bunch of folks who filled up there ended up needing repairs. Can you imagine? About 100 drivers might be affected, and it’s got everyone buzzing. The garage had to close for a bit but opened up again the next day.
A BP spokesperson said they’ve isolated the dodgy fuel tank and are looking into what went wrong. A local expert thinks the fuel might have mixed with water somehow. Yikes!
Lee Pretlove, who runs a fuel draining service, said it’s been a crazy week for him. He’s been swamped with calls from drivers needing help. He’s already dealt with 40 people, but he thinks the number could be way higher.
One poor guy had five vans break down on the same day! That’s got to be a nightmare. Pretlove mentioned that many cars will need new spark plugs and filters after this mess.
BP is advising anyone worried about their vehicles to reach out to their careline for support. It’s a good reminder to always check your fuel source, right?
