San Francisco: So, Fred Warner really thought he could rally the 49ers with a fiery speech before facing the Lions. But wow, did that backfire! The 49ers ended up losing 40-34 at Levi’s Stadium, and his words didn’t age well at all.
Warner was all pumped up, calling out the Lions and telling his teammates to make it personal. He was ready to show Detroit who’s boss. But the Lions came in swinging, and they weren’t holding back. They had their eyes on the playoffs, and they played like it.
Dan Campbell, the Lions’ coach, decided to go all in, even though some thought he might rest his starters. He made it clear they were there to win, no matter what. And boy, did they deliver!
As the game went on, the 49ers made some costly mistakes that really hurt their chances. And to add insult to injury, Amon-Ra St. Brown had a little fun at Warner’s expense on Instagram after the game. Ouch!
It’s tough to blame Warner for trying to pump up his team, but sometimes those motivational speeches can come back to bite you. Maybe next time, he’ll think twice before making such bold claims.
