Wantage: Charlton Lodge Care Home had its grand opening on January 29. Residents, staff, and the local community gathered to celebrate.

The mayor, councillor Dr. Angela Dunford, officially opened the care home. She joined in the festivities and met many guests.

Guests enjoyed live music from singer Charmaine and Wantage Silver Band. There was also a classic Mini car display in the parking lot.

The Mini display honored the factory in Cowley. Guests sipped bubbly, enjoyed canapés, and toured the new home.

Carla Kell, the home manager, said the launch party was a huge success. She appreciated the warm welcome from the neighbors.

Carla added that they felt part of the community already. She thanked councillor Dr. Angela Dunford for cutting the ribbon.

Councillor Dunford remarked on the transformation of the building. She enjoyed meeting the staff and first residents, wishing them happiness.
