Redcar: A vulnerable woman was rescued from the freezing North Sea in a dramatic early morning operation. It all went down on Saturday when two brave police officers jumped into the icy water to save her.

The North East Ambulance Service alerted the police just after 2 AM, and without a second thought, PCs Clarke and Gressman dove right in. They managed to bring the 38-year-old woman back to safety.

Chief Inspector Mark Pitt praised the officers for their quick response, saying it was a serious situation. He expressed pride in their selfless actions, emphasizing how they prioritized the woman’s safety over their own.

The ambulance service was ready to assist but was called off by the police once the situation was under control. This rescue happened during a night when temperatures were dropping, and a yellow weather warning for icy conditions was in effect.
