Lisbon: So, Viktor Gyokeres is at it again! The guy scored three goals in his latest match for Sporting CP. Can you believe it? He’s really making a name for himself.
Ever since Ruben Amorim moved to Manchester United, people have been buzzing about Gyokeres possibly following him. Even though both of them have said they’re not looking to make a move this January, the chatter about a summer transfer in 2025 is heating up.
If Amorim decides to grab a new striker now instead of waiting, Gyokeres just reminded everyone that he should be the top pick. He’s showing he’s ready to step up.
Last night, he hit his 71st, 72nd, and 73rd goals in just 78 games for Sporting. He scored his first goal in just two minutes! But sadly, it didn’t lead to a win. Sporting ended up drawing 4-4 with Vitoria SC, which isn’t great news for them after Amorim left.
They were doing so well until November, but now they’re back in a tough title race, and their new coach has already been let go. Talk about a rough patch!
Manchester United has had its own ups and downs with the new coach. Maybe this summer will be a fresh start for both Gyokeres and the team as they look to reset for the next season.
Meanwhile, the current strikers, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, are struggling. Zirkzee even got booed when he was subbed off before halftime in a recent loss to Newcastle. Ouch!
There are whispers that Gyokeres has a €100m release clause, but Sporting might let him go for a lower fee of €60-70m in the summer. That could be a sweet deal for United!
