London: So, there’s been some drama around Vicky Pattison’s wedding video. It turns out a clip from her big day with Ercan Ramadan got banned. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) said it made smoking look all glamorous and aspirational, which is a big no-no.
The video, shared by Ercan on Instagram, showed him and his groomsmen puffing on cigars. It was all about the suits and the vibe, but the ASA wasn’t having it. They received complaints saying it glamorized smoking and didn’t clearly label it as an ad.
They pointed out that while the video was about menswear, the focus was really on the smoking. The slow-motion shots and jazzy music made it look even more appealing, which is not cool. The ASA said it was irresponsible to present smoking like that.
They also mentioned that the ad didn’t have a clear label saying it was an advertisement, which it should have. So, they told Ercan to make sure any future ads are more socially responsible.
By the way, Vicky and Ercan tied the knot officially at Marylebone Town Hall in August and then had a second wedding in Puglia, Italy, in September. Quite the celebration!
