Bristol: Recently, two guys got locked up for their part in the chaos that went down in Bristol last August. Joe Saunders and Mark Goodman are the latest to face the music for the riots sparked by anti-immigration protests.

Goodman, who doesn’t have a permanent address, was caught on police cameras acting all aggressive and hurling insults at both the public and the cops. He even threw a drink can and tried to punch an officer. Not cool, right?

Things got heated on Bristol Bridge, where he was verbally attacking the police. Outside a hotel for asylum seekers, he threw stuff, swung punches, and even kicked a cop’s bike. He ended up pleading guilty to violent disorder and got a hefty 30-month sentence.

Then there’s Joe Saunders from Exeter. He was also part of the ruckus on Bristol Bridge, throwing things at the police and being verbally abusive. He pleaded guilty too and got 28 months in prison.

Detective Chief Inspector Tom Herbert made it clear that their actions put everyone at risk and scared the local community. He said they deserved the tough sentences, especially since many others have already been punished for their roles in the riots.
