They’re planning to add 179 rooms, plus a library and café on the ground floor. Joseph Kane from Royal London thinks this project will really bring some energy back to the area. It’s just a short walk from Hammersmith Station, which is super convenient.
The site is right next to the Irish Cultural Centre, a spot that hosts all sorts of events, from movies to music. Plus, Imperial College London is on board with the idea, saying it could help free up homes currently taken by students.
The goal is to create a modern, sustainable space that future students will love. They’re not planning any car parking, but there will be bike storage in the basement. The ground floor will have community space for the café and library, and they’re making sure some of the rooms are affordable and accessible.
Oh, and there’s more happening in the area! They’re also looking to demolish the Hammersmith Flyover and build around 3,000 new homes nearby. Exciting times ahead for Hammersmith!
