‘Utterly Terrifying’ Details Emerge in Mum’s Murder Case
A mother was brutally murdered in front of her daughters, leading to a lengthy prison sentence for the perpetrator

Bendigo: It’s a heartbreaking story. James William Pualic, a 45-year-old man, has been sentenced to 24 years for the murder of Analyn “Logee” Osias. This tragic event happened right in front of her young daughters last year.
Pualic, after downing a bottle of vodka and taking sedatives, broke into Analyn’s home in Kangaroo Flat. He then stabbed and strangled her. It’s just awful to think about.
After the crime, he was found by a creek, all messed up and incoherent. Analyn was discovered with serious injuries, and the cause of death was a stab wound that hit her carotid artery. Just so tragic.
Justice Rita Incerti described how Pualic attacked Analyn while she was asleep, dragging her from her bed. He lost control, fueled by anger over perceived betrayal. It’s chilling to hear how he thought about the impact on her daughters.
One of the daughters witnessed the attack, while the other was just a few meters away, sleeping. Can you imagine the trauma they’re going through? The prosecutor read a statement from the eldest daughter, who is now caring for her younger sisters. She mentioned how tough it’s been for them.
Pualic has a long history of mental illness and violence. He even stabbed someone else back in 1999. At the time of Analyn’s murder, he was already facing assault charges against her. It’s a cycle of violence that’s just heartbreaking.
Justice Incerti pointed out that family violence murders are becoming all too common. Women are being killed by their partners at an alarming rate. It’s a serious issue that needs to be addressed.
Pualic will spend at least 19 years in prison before he can even think about parole. It’s a small comfort, but at least there’s some justice for Analyn and her daughters.
