Portland, Oregon, Mail Theft, USPS, Arrest

PORTLAND: So, here’s the scoop. In Washington County, two guys got nabbed for stealing mail and packages, thanks to a sharp-eyed USPS mail carrier. This mail carrier was just doing their job when they spotted a couple of shady characters in a white Subaru Crosstrek swiping packages.

Turns out, this whole thing is part of a bigger investigation. Detectives had been looking into a stolen or fake USPS postal box key that let these guys access mailboxes in the Cedar Mill and Bethany areas.

The arrested suspects are 24-year-old Brandon Rummerfield from Portland and 31-year-old Michael Fischer from Battle Ground. They’re facing some serious charges, including mail theft and identity theft.

Officials mentioned that the investigation is still rolling, and many victims haven’t even been informed yet. So, more charges could be on the way. It’s a wild situation, but at least the mail carrier was on the ball!
