Perth faces a new measles alert after an infected traveler was confirmed on a recent flight, prompting health officials to act quickly

Perth: Another measles warning has just been issued for the city. This comes just days after the first alert. It’s getting serious!
The Department of Health in Western Australia is urging anyone who was on Singapore Airlines flight SQ225 on December 8 to watch for symptoms. An infected passenger was on that flight, so they want everyone to be cautious.
They’re also warning folks who were at terminal 1 of Perth airport on the same day between 5:30 AM and 6:30 AM. Better safe than sorry, right?
This is actually the second warning in just two days. The first one was about a traveler who arrived on Jetstar Flight JQ98 from Singapore on November 30.
That person visited a couple of places, including Chemist Warehouse in Armadale and 7-Eleven in Cockburn Central, between December 3 and 5. But health officials think these cases aren’t linked.
If you start feeling under the weather, keep an eye out for early symptoms like fever, cough, and a runny nose. If it gets worse, you might see a rash starting on your face.
Anyone who was at these exposure sites should keep an eye on their health for 18 days after being there. It’s a good idea to be cautious.
Paul Armstrong, the director of communicable disease control, is urging anyone with symptoms to see their doctor. He’s stressing the importance of wearing a mask and calling ahead if you need to visit a clinic.
It’s all about keeping everyone safe and preventing the spread of this virus!
